Beginner Yoga Advice

A yoga practice is a tool. A tool that helps you feel better.

The key is to learn how to best use that tool.

The BEST advice for beginners to yoga (and for those of us caught up with perfectionism!)

A yoga practice is a tool.

A tool to help you feel better.

The biggest misconception about starting a yoga practice is that it requires ALL these fancy poses. It's really NOT about nailing every pose. There's no rule book saying you MUST do this pose or that.

What yoga truly is (and I've been teaching & practicing for decades) is a tool to help you feel better.

When you approach your practice from "Is this going to help me feel better? Is this stretch helping? Is this breathing technique helping?" It becomes less complicated, less intimidating.

More importantly, yoga becomes useful and usable because that's what it is at its core - a tool to help you feel better.

So simple.

But we tend to forget this ALL the time.

Let's continue to remind each other.
