Decompress Your Back At The Wall

Whether you feel super tight or just a bit compressed, stretching your back is a GREAT way to feel better. Even if we can take a yoga or stretch class on a consistent basis because we spend most of our days sitting at desks or in cars, our back muscles get tight and contracted.

Making time to stretch a bit each day really does help alleviate pain, improve posture, and enhance mobility. We dedicate a few minutes to stretching the back in both our online and in-person classes in Pacifica.

My favorite way to stretch the back is by using the wall as a feedback and leverage tool. Join us for a class or watch the video for step-by-step instructions for shoulder squares at the wall and upper body release at the wall.

Try this and let me know how it goes. As always, there are ways to adapt and adjust these exercises so that they work for you.

Remember, the goal is to feel better, and the way to do that is with consistent, intelligent practice.

Let’s keep elevating the way we practice yoga.
